Aria Pareek, a student currently pursuing the International Baccalaureate program in Dubai, has been awarded The Pathos Prize for Best Writing in the Junior Division of the Cambridge Re:Think Essay Competition 2026, organised by the Cambridge Centre for International Research.

The Re:Think competition received over 15,000 submissions from students across more than 50 countries this year. Following four rigorous rounds of blind review conducted by scholars from Cambridge, Oxford, Stanford, MIT, and several Ivy League universities, just 33 award winners were selected across both divisions, representing the top 0.25% of all submissions. Aria Pareek is the recipient of The Pathos Prize for Best Writing in the Junior Division, open to students aged 11 to 13, as recognised by the Cambridge Centre for International Research and listed on the official competition results page.

Aria’s winning essay, titled The Resilience Paradox: A Good Kid’s Perspective, responded to the competition prompt asking whether resilience is something individuals must build, or whether schools and families should do more to reduce the causes of stress. The essay was selected by the jury for its exceptional quality of writing, depth of argument, and critical engagement with a topic that sits at the intersection of psychology, education, and social responsibility.

The competition is designed to encourage critical thinking and the thoughtful exploration of complex, contemporary topics. This year’s jury noted that submissions exceeded expectations in terms of depth and critical engagement, making the selection process particularly competitive.

As a recipient of The Pathos Prize, Aria receives a USD 150 cash award, a USD 500 CCIR Academy Scholarship, a digital award certificate, and an invitation to be featured in a CCIR podcast interview. Aria attended the Award Ceremony and Dinner in person at King’s College, University of Cambridge on July 31, 2026, where she was formally recognised as the best writer in the Junior Division among the top student writers from more than 50 countries worldwide. The ceremony featured a keynote address by a Nobel Laureate, underscoring the academic distinction of the event and the calibre of achievement it recognises.
